 Kenny Youngblood keeps his pens smokin'
for children's charities!The Ninth Annual Gasoline Alley’s Birthday Bash will once again be a two day event, starting with a kick-off party at the Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, May 24th, 2008, followed by being “On The Grass” once again at Eldorado Park on Sunday, May 25th, 2008. Fund raising techniques for this event consist of selling drawing tickets for contributed item/services, participant registration fees, donations, and vendor fees.
On Saturday, May 24th, 2008, we will hold a HUGE kick-off party at the Cannery Casino & Hotel, which includes special parking for participants, live bands throughout the day, great vendors, trophies, and of course the incredible Cannery Casino & Hotel street rod friendly hospitality! On Sunday, May 25th, 2008, our event will conclude at Eldorado Park in North Las Vegas, Nevada, the park we have utilized for the last four years.
This year, we are excited to once again have proceeds benefit The Lili Claire
Foundation. As you may remember from our previous events, this non-profit organization assists children and young adults living with
neurogenetic conditions, such as Autism, Down syndrome, and Williams syndrome, that may affect their physical, intellectual, and behavioral
development. To better assist these children, and the families who love them, The Lili Claire Foundation opened The Lili Claire Family Resource
Center in Las Vegas. This incredible facility, located in the Danny Gans building, offers diagnostic genetics and behavioral clinics and
counseling, with their partnership with the medical professionals at the University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM).
Over the last eight years, this event has grown from a birthday celebration for a few good friends to one of the premiere street rod events in Southern Nevada . In 2008, we anticipate over 400 vehicles, with approximately 5,000-7,000 people in attendance. Historically, moderate temperatures and mild breezes make for a perfect day to stroll past row after row of beautiful street rods, compare “war stories” from previous street rod events, and soak up some sunshine. Legendary drag racing artist Kenny Youngblood designed our event logo, event poster, and will also be in attendance during the event.
TROPHIES:
There will be a series of select trophies awarded at the Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, May 24th. Similar to last year, there will be numerous trophy categories awarded at Eldorado Park on Sunday, May 25th, including Best of Show, Best Paint, Participants Pick, Club Participation, Gasoline Alley’s Pick, Mowing the Grass, Best Race Car, Best Chrome, and the highly sought after “Top Twenty”. Winners will receive their trophy during our parade of champions prior to closing the event.
TREATS:
In addition to the “goodie bag” provided to the first 400 participants entering their vehicle, the first 250 children receive their own special event bag. These children also receive a drawing ticket for a special series of drawings held throughout the day at Eldorado Park.
ENTERTAINMENT:
While at the Cannery Casino & Hotel, a series of phenomenal live entertainment will be offered. Consistent with past years event at Eldorado Park, a wide variety of entertainment for both young and old is also being confirmed for that day as well. Examples include Mad Science demonstrations, clowns, karate demonstrations, Going for the Gold gymnastics exhibitions, monster truck displays, and many more. In addition to the entertainment, our event will be home to numerous foodstuff and merchandise vendors spread around the perimeter of the park to satisfy culinary tastes as well as those “gotta have” purchases.
